The Simplified Chinese Team Rocket's Grand Vision Exclusive Gift Set is one of those — a black faux-leather briefcase with a red "R" stamped dead center, packed with a full accessory loadout.

Here's why it's worth your attention.

What Exactly Is This Thing?

Released July 16, 2026 alongside the Chinese-language Chasing Glory Together (共逐荣光, CSV10C) expansion, this is a Pokémon China exclusive built around a single premium centerpiece: a textured black briefcase with the Team Rocket R in red.

Note that you'll see this product listed under several English names depending on the seller — Grand Vision, Grand Scheme, Grand Ambition, Glory of Team Rocket. They're all the same box. The Chinese name is the one to search if you want to compare listings apples-to-apples.

The Case Is the Whole Point

Here's the thing that makes this an easy recommendation even if you don't read a word of Chinese: the briefcase has no language on it.

It's black. It has a red R. That's the entire design. Nothing about it says "import product" sitting on your shelf — it just says Team Rocket. The sleeves, the deck box, and the playmat all follow the same rule. This is one of the very few Simplified Chinese products where the language of the release is basically irrelevant to what you're buying it for.

And it isn't just a display object. The lid pouch holds damage counters, dice, and your paperwork; the base has a dedicated card storage section. You could genuinely take this to locals and it would work. It's the rare piece of Pokémon merch that's a functional bag and a shelf piece.

How It Stacks Up Against the Japanese Version

If this concept looks familiar, it should. Japan got a Glory of Team Rocket Attaché Case in April 2025 with a very similar look — black case, red R, built-in pouches up top and card storage below. It sold via lottery because demand was so far past supply, and it remains one of the most sought-after Japanese collector pieces of that era.

The Chinese release follows that same design language, with one meaningful difference: the contents are a fuller kit. Japan's version was essentially case plus 30 booster packs. This one trades some of that pack count for the accessory loadout — sleeves, deck box, playmat, storage bag — plus the Mewtwo ex promo. Different tradeoff, and depending on what you want out of it, arguably the better one. If you're buying for the case and the gear rather than the pack odds, this is the version that gives you a complete Team Rocket setup out of the box.

The Brock's Scouting Chase

The packs aren't filler, either — and this is the part most people miss.

Chasing Glory Together contains Brock's Scouting as a Special Illustration Rare (SAR) illustrated by Atsushi Furusawa, and it is genuinely exclusive to the Simplified Chinese release. The card itself is a Supporter that originally appeared in Journey Together, but this particular illustration has never been printed in any other language, and China-exclusive artwork has historically stayed that way.

That's meaningful. Brock is one of the original anime cast and a quarter-century of nostalgia rides on him. And Furusawa is no rookie — he's been illustrating for the Pokémon TCG since the Sword & Shield era with 50+ cards to his name.

So the six packs in this box aren't just booster filler. They're the only packs in the world that can produce that card.

About Simplified Chinese Product Generally

Worth knowing if this is your first import: Chinese-market cards are printed in Japan, and the card stock and print quality track much closer to Japanese product than to English. Packs also run 20 cards apiece, nearly double what English packs give you.

Chasing Glory Together is also a landmark release in its own right — at 287 cards it's officially the largest Simplified Chinese Pokémon set ever printed, built around Owner's Pokémon including Giovanni's crew.

Should You Grab One?

Honestly? If you're a Team Rocket person, or you want one genuinely impressive display piece instead of five forgettable ones — yes. This is a case you'll still be happy to look at in five years, and it does real work in the meantime.

Two practical notes. First, buy from someone who handles import product. Simplified Chinese Pokémon is legitimate official product, but the import lane attracts sellers who don't pack carefully, and premium gift boxes take corner dings in transit. Second, condition matters more than usual here — the briefcase is the collectible, so outer packaging and case corners matter in a way they wouldn't on a standard ETB.
